Opera Anywhere on ITV tonight!

The wonderful tenor we recently auditioned, Andrew Bain, rose to the challenge of our work with 'Fabulous Flowers' on Valentines Day, see the TV clip from his singing deliveries on ITV Local tonight! Our work for the Oxford Fringe Festival, a song recital at the o3 on 4th April and the 'Opera Busk' at the Oxford Castle market square on April 5th (both lunch time performances) is beginning to take shape as leading singers from across the South have started to apply. Rachel Chapman has already been booked to sing and will be performing favourites including 'O mio babbino caro', 'I could have danced all night', 'O sole mio' and 'Summertime', to name but a few! We've been wanting to work with Rachel for some time now so we are delighted she's up for the Opera Busk! To see and hear Rachel, check out her great web site. The song recital programme for the o3 is shaping up nicely too, those singers that have expressed an interest includes the soprano Alex Kennedy and tenor, Hugo Tucker.

Gina's On Song!

We had a wonderful time last night performing for the Rotary International's Tanzania Project, we used Peter Cowdrey as our pianist this time, and he seemed to really enjoy the JDP's new Steinway. Vanessa and myself performed some of our favourite G&S numbers and we managed to do a take of the Duke and Duchess duet from the Gondoliers and cross dressed, the packed audience seemed to really appreciate the light hearted nature of our performance. Vanessa did a cracking 'Jim' (Lisa Lehman) and James Allen joined us again and sang as well as ever, did a brilliant 'Where The Bee Sucks' as well as 'Lurking In The Pond' and 'The Birds Lament'.
To complete the line up, we had the very loveley, dynamic and wonderful performer, Gina Watson join us, travelled all the way down from London - she sang a marvelous 'Poor Wandering One' (G&S Pirates), 'Mein Herr Marquis - Die Fledermaus (Strauss) and brought the house down with ‘Je veux vivre’ - from Romeo et Juliette (Gounod). There were so many people asking about Gina after the show, we thought we would put a link to her web site here > http://www.ginawatson.co.uk/.
If any of you, that were at the show last night, we'd love to hear your feedback, please post a comment....
